Tucson National Country Club became the host of the nationally televised Tucson Open soon after it was founded in the early 1960's. Celebrity entertainers and respected golf professionals such as Dean Martin, Bob Hope, Johnny Miller, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Travino, Miller Barber, Tom Watson and Joe Garagiola brought fame to the Tucson Open.
The original 18 hole course, identified as the Orange and Gold, was designed by Robert Bruce Harris and later modified by Von Hagge/Devlin. It is recognized as one of the top 20 Golf Courses in Arizona. An additional 9 holes, designed by Von Hagge/Devlin, were added in the early 1980's.
Golf membership privileges include 27 holes of championship golf, advance tee times, an extensive practice area and member-only walking privileges.
Other amenities include four lighted tennis courts, two heated swimming pools, outdoor jacuzzi, state-of-the-art Spa, volleyball and basketball courts.
The Club at Tucson National is tucked away in northwest Tucson, surrounded by the Sonoran desert. The 27 holes of golf are laid out on 232 acres of manicured grounds with mature trees bordering the fairways, ten lakes and 131 strategically placed bunkers.
The perimeter of the course is enhanced by upscale custom homes.
Members enjoy dining in the Fiesta Room, Catalina Grille and Legends Bar and Grille with a variety of menus to please the discriminating palate.
